Western Veil Nebula - mosaic

NGC6960 Western Veil Nebula - 2 panel mosaic NGC 6960 Western Veil Nebula, also known as the Witch’s Broom Nebula, is a part of the Veil Nebula. It is a supernova remnant from a star that was about 20 times larger than the Sun and is estimated to have exploded around 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. The complete supernova remnant lies about 1400 light-years away towards the constellation Cygnus. This Witch’s Broom actually spans about 35 light-years. Below mosaic is created by using 2 panels, with each panel photographed at a focal length of 2070mm using quad band triad filter.
